NLP Northeast is a not-for-profit association set up to teach the skills and thinking of NLP at prices that individuals can afford. It particularly aims to reach teachers, social workers, care workers, parents, learners, and the disadvantaged. We teach the skills of NLP, with a bias towards the language elements, with integrity and warmth.
We take pride in the fact that we have many fine participants from diverse ethnic and national groups. Our oldest Practitioner was 72 and our youngest was 12. We offer bursaries to the low-waged, and to people from voluntary organisations who work with the disadvantaged.
Because our trainers are all recognised for their understanding of the wider field of NLP, their innovative training, and their ability to enable others to use these skills, our training is also attended by many people other than those we first set out to reach, executives, dancers, economists, accountants, potters, and psychologists.
Our fees are low partly because all of our trainers earn our living at some other profession. We do NLP training in our 'spare' time. Our venues are often pleasant public services buildings. Our office is 'manned' by Cricket when she isn't away working.
NLP Northeast has a practice group which has been meeting continuously since 1987. We meet from 10.00 to 5.00, on the First Saturday of every month, even once on New Year's Day! At present we meet at Chevyside, Yetholm Place, Newbiggin Hall Estate, Newcastle on Tyne NE5 4EB. We don't have presenters. This is a practice group, run by its participants.
We have an education arm called Magical Spelling Limited, which introduces NLP and Magical Spelling to teachers and learners. It is also doing research on the use of NLP in the classroom. Several of our senior people are teachers or former teachers. We have been written up in a number of educational journals and in newspapers, as well as appearing on local television.
We have run workshops on teaching for Ealing Education Services, and at the NUT conference. All of our trainers have presented several times at the ANLP conferences.
We have fun learning NLP!
